Lions Club Presentation

On March 14, 2023, Wayne Schilling, President of Woodbury Heritage Society did a presentation about the Woodbury Heritage Society, Woodbury’s early history and the Society goals for the upcoming year.

This is not the first time a financial contribution was made to the Heritage Society…from the Lions. When the History Book, Woodbury: A Past to Remember needed help in being published, the Heritage Committee in 1976 reached out to the Lions Club, The Community Club, Woodbury Jaycees & the Woodbury Women’s Club.

Wayne shared with the group,” If it were not for this Lion’s group giving us a donation in 1976, we would not have been able to published the well-loved book ”Woodbury – A Glance to the Past”. A thousand thanks to Woodbury Lions club for that past donation and now this special donation. We will put this to great use.”

It was a wonderful surprise and certainly shows on Wayne’s face. Some say Wayne never smiled as wide as when he was asked to receive the check of $500 for the Heritage Society’s causes from Mike Mensing, President of the Woodbury Lions Club.
